Privacy Policy for Bubble Recorder
1. Introduction
Welcome to Bubble Recorder, owned and operated by 19 BIT FZC LLC, UAE. Bubble Recorder lets you quickly capture voice notes through a convenient floating widget. Recordings and session structures are stored on your device. Optional AI features let you transcribe recordings, summarize transcripts, and ask questions about a selected note using your own API key. These features send the content described below directly to the AI provider for processing.
2. Audio Recordings & Local Storage
- On-Device Storage: All voice notes (both short and long recordings) and session structures are stored locally on your device, in a directory you choose upon first launch or via the app settings.
- Optional AI Processing: Recording and local storage do not require AI processing. When you use an AI feature, the required content is sent directly from your device to the AI provider. 19 Bit does not operate an intermediary server for these requests or receive or store your API key, recordings, transcripts, or AI questions on its own servers through this AI integration.
3. Permissions Required
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used to capture your audio notes.
- Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used to display the floating widget on top of other apps for quick access.
- Storage / Storage Access Framework (SAF): Used to let you select and save recordings to a custom local directory of your choice.
4. Third-Party Services & Advertising
- Analytics & Diagnostics: We use Google Firebase (Crashlytics & Analytics) strictly for monitoring app crashes, performance diagnostics, and non-identifiable usage logs.
- Advertising: We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID / AAID) for ad delivery and analytics.
5. Optional AI Features & API Keys
- Provider and Direct Connection: AI features work with third-party AI providers supported by the app. You provide your own API key for your selected provider. Requests go directly from your device to that provider using its API or software library, without passing through Bubble Recorder's own servers. Available providers may change as the app is updated.
- Content Sent: Transcription sends the audio recording and instructions needed to transcribe it. Summarization sends the transcript and relevant instructions, rather than the audio. Questions about a note send the selected note's transcript, your question, and relevant instructions, rather than the audio. Questions use the selected note, not your entire notes library.
- Your API Key: Your key is stored encrypted in the app's preferences on your device. You can remove it in Settings. The app uses the key to authenticate requests to the provider; 19 Bit does not receive or store it on its own servers through this integration. Removing the key from the app does not revoke it with the provider or delete data already processed by the provider.
- Your Provider Account: Requests use your API key and are subject to your provider account's applicable terms, usage limits, and pricing. You are responsible for managing your account and any charges incurred through your key. AI features are optional; you can continue recording and managing notes without using them.
- Provider Data Handling: Your selected provider processes submitted content under its applicable terms and privacy policies. Its retention, deletion, human review, and use of content for model training or service improvement may depend on the provider, your account settings, service tier, and region. Review your provider's policies before sending content, especially sensitive or confidential information. Using your own key does not guarantee that the provider does not retain or use content.
6. Accounts & Data Retention
- No 19 Bit Account Required: No 19 Bit account or login is required. Optional AI features require your own API key for a provider supported by the app.
- Local AI Data: Transcripts are saved on your device, not on 19 Bit servers. The app does not persist AI questions as a local question history.
- Local Deletion: You can delete recordings and notes using the app. Files saved in a user-selected directory may remain after uninstalling the app and may need to be deleted separately.
- Provider Retention: Deleting local content or uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete content retained by the AI provider. Provider retention and deletion are governed by its terms and available controls. Sending content for processing does not guarantee immediate deletion by the provider, even when the app does not use a separate file-upload or storage service.
7. Children's Privacy
Bubble Recorder is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children or anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
